Finally, a young LADY with dignity, grace and values! I look for sites for my wife to get some “tips and encouragement” and when I look, most of what I find is girls in the most skimpy of bikinis and camera angles meant to get the “like” button pushed. Enjoy your videos. You are a true professional. Incredible the shots you make. Keep up the good work. God Bless.
Well thank you! I’m glad to help. Thanks for appreciating for the content, rather than looking for bikinis and machine gun pairing (sorry boys…haha) I wish your wife good luck with her shooting interests as well!
Kirsten is so good looking that it be a sham if she did put videos out like that. Something about a conservative good looking lady that knows how to dress like a lady and can out shoot you. She also knows how to teach something in a way it’s easy to follow. You can see she really loves what she does. I’m a fan for sure.
Your videos always make my day, no matter where in the world I may be. I love your intensity before you take the shot and the fact you are humble enough and self effacing enough to admit when you don’t know something. You are just cute as a button, and lethal as hell. Gotta love it.
Great Shooting, Great Personality and most of all, GREAT LOOKING!
I like how you showed even a professional like yourself needs practice with minuscule targets!
Would have taken me a lot longer to hit a Snap-It, and a lot more clothes pins LOL
A gunsight academy 50 bmg driverand instructor stated that he did all his practice with .308 win on a youtube. Do you have any thoughts? .308 has long barrel life. It is ballistically similar in that it has much of the same behavior at 800 yards as a 300 wm or 338 lapua in that it has considerable bullet drop and exaggerated wind drift. So one has to deal with the mechanics of those calculations without suffering the possible denigration of one’s shooting of recoil from numerous shots. And it is amazingly cheap. What do you think of practicing with cheaper, less accurate ammo? Seems there are pluses and minuses.
Training with smaller calibers works well. I would not choose a .308 for various reasons, but many military guys train on this because it is what the military has a LOT of surplus for as far as calibers. Even Chris Kyle wasn’t a fan of .308, but used it because sometimes you just have to work with what ya got. But would a few hundred rounds on a .308 be better than 10-20 on a 50 cal? YES. Would a few thousand rounds on a 223 be better than a few hundred on a .338? YES. Would 10s of thousands of rounds on a .22 be better than a few thousand on a .223? YES. For various reasons. 1) more rounds=more training 2) lighter calibers are MUCH harder to shoot technically – and you learn the wind like crazy. When you go up to higher calibers, other than maybe getting use to the recoil – you can breathe easier. Things become “easy” it’s like resistance training. I know from experience and observation 🙂 It’s an overlooked phenomenon, and much better on the wallet 😀 (thought it’s still important to know “how” to train correctly for the scenario, in order to be able to jump to higher calibers easily) Good question!
Thank you very much for your time. It was very helpful.
Do you have a list of measurables that you consider to help tailor one’s training methods to shooting a heavier caliber better?
Terry
Thanks for the info, especially the .22 wind part. I can experiment with longer ranges with the .22. And the speed shooting. I am going to buy the Volquartson pistol you were salivating over. It might be handy to practice speed drills with it and just spend enough time and money to get recoil under control.
Hello kirsten
A big thank you for all your vidéos about the practice of shooting. Through your practice you are the ambassador of the women’s shooting in the direction of Europe. Our discipline is reinforced with your personal touch. So excuse me for m’y pour english, a frenchman ofren has difficulty using it. Good courage and thank you again. Pierre (Peter) a french shooter.
Hello Kristen ,I’m Robert I’ve really enjoyed watching your videos. I just came across them the other week. So far I think you are amazing. With lots of skill and I think it’s incredible asome you are into firearms.
Yep, she’s a looker alright! But it’s more important that she knows what a snake den looks like. And that it is better to shoot 10,000 rounds of 22lr than 1,000 rounds of .223,,, 🙂 Just sayin!
I worked for a public range for about a year and a half. Every Saturday morning I would put on a YouTube channel and just let it play on the tv near our viewing area. I put your channel on a lot. It was popular with everyone. On multiple occasions I would look over and see some young girl/woman completely enthralled by you. I saw a few point you out to their parents when they came off the range, and I know of 2 that I heard say something like “if she can do it, can I?” You are an inspiration. Stay classy and keep up the great work. Thank you.
Hey Sweets, start a monthly sponsorship sign-up sheet, we can fund you to make-up for missing Add Revenue if you need it… everyone here can chip-in a few dollars a month each, I can see many are already suggesting this ~ Steve
Well Hi Again Sweets, looking forward to your postings from the NRA Event this weekend down in Atlanta. Sure wish I could have gotten down there, but not meant to be this time around I guess. I’ve hooked up with your Newsletter, to circumvent the Youtube Notification (Failures), that should do it. Write soon, your pal Steve in Cali ~ 😉
Hello Kirsten. I love your videos and shooting tips. They have helped me become a better shot. Some of the games we play are shooting through a life saver candy with a 22 at 50 yards, or shooting a gumball off of a gulf tee at 100 yards also with a 22 lr.
Great videos Kirsten , I just bought a volquartsen fusion, watching your videos kinda sold me on the brand and it doesn’t disappoint. Your videos are really helpful and I like the fact you’re very truthful about the products you review, like the snake fluted volq. Keep up the good work. KennyW.
Kirsten I wanted to say Thank You. You do it with class .In sharing your skills and great personality, you make shooting so appealing to everyone. My 11 yr old daughter has been shooting air rifles for sometime . And recently started shooting her new .22 @ 100 yrd and is a very good shot(as is her mother) . Its so refreshing for her to have someone to look up to . Keep the great videos coming. John.B
